Riding on 2 wheels!!

Hassan and Ammar have been out on the street for the last three days trying to ride their bikes without training wheels. Hassan, probably because he's 7 and should have learned a long time ago, took about 5 minutes before he was riding on his own. Ammar (in all his protective gear) is still learning. A few more sessions and he will be flying down the street on his own too. The 100 + degree weather this weekend was not conducive to outdoor activities, but we kept on. This video is from their second day of lessons.

Exercise time

It's been soo long since I've posted....

I thought I would share Ammar's morning exercise routine with everyone. He has been wrestling with Team Mixed Breed fight club and has learned alot for a 3 year old. Now that wrestling season is over they are doing submission grappling...kind of scary, but the kids really enjoy it.

Hassan's First Day Wrestling

Today was Hassan's very first wrestling tournament. He won his first match and tied the second.

Bloody Scene

I came home from work early today (now I ask myself why did I do this???) and sat down, hoping I would have a chance to relax. Soon I hear screaming and crying upstairs. Ammar comes running down the stairs with blood dripping down his face. AAHHHHHHH!!!!!

Apparently he was trying to be a power ranger. He had climbed on top of Hassan's bed and jumped off (maybe so that he could drop kick his imagined enemies?) Instead he ended up bumping his head on the edge of the dresser, causing blood to gush every where (yes..all over Hassan's carpet, the hallway carpet, the stairs carpet, and the living room carpet as he came downstairs!!!!!)

This may seem like a once in a lifetime event in most people's lives....not ours. Ali did this exact same thing when he was 2..it just took Ammar 2 years longer to get to the same stage in life!!!

American Idol or WWF?

So many talents....which one to use to get on TV? Great wrestling skills (we have those in the family) or excellent singing skills. Ali has so many difficult decisions ahead.

This was one of the MANY songs sung last night by the Toby Johnson Choir (there's Ali in the front!!!) during the Winter Concert. These 7th and 8th graders are soo excited to be singing-especially the eight boys!!!!

ALI's First Win

Today was a very exciting day in our house. Ali (after three very disheartening tries) won his first wrestling match. We are soo excited for him. He beat his opponent 10-6!!! Here's a picture of his moment of pride.

I found an old picture of when Hassan was a baby...it melts my heart every time I look at it. ....
